How do I leave a note on part of a document in One Clear Reader?

To leave a note in One Clear Reader, select the text, add a note and save it. The note sticks to those exact words.

1. Select any words on the page. A small bubble appears with Add note and Copy feedback.
2. Choose Add note, or press ⌥⌘N.
3. A box opens under your selection with the quote at the top. Type what should change in "What should change here?".
4. Press ⌘Return, or click Save note.

The words are now highlighted on the page, and the Review button in the toolbar shows how many notes you have. Hover a highlight to see its note.

You can leave the note empty. It then counts as "No comment, just flagged", which is handy for "look at this again".

Free keeps 3 notes per document. Pro has no limit. Notes you already made stay when you hit the limit. You just can't add another until you remove one.

How do I see and manage my notes in One Clear Reader?

Click Review in the One Clear Reader toolbar. The Review notes panel lists every note on this document:

• The heading it sits under, the quoted text and your note.
• Show scrolls to the highlight and makes it pulse.
• Remove deletes that note.
• Clear notes at the bottom removes them all.

Notes are saved on your Mac only. They never change the document itself.

How do I send all my One Clear Reader notes to my AI?

To send all your notes to your AI, click Review, then Copy as prompt, and paste into your AI chat.

The prompt names the file, asks the AI to go through each note, and quotes the exact text. Say Sam left two notes on a plan. The clipboard gets this:

I reviewed it and left 2 notes. For each note, quote the text it refers to, say what you will change, then update the file.

Because the full file path is in the prompt, a coding AI like Claude Code or Cursor can open the file and make the changes itself. A chat AI in the browser can't reach your Mac, so paste the document in too, or ask it for the corrected text.

How do I check my AI fixed my notes in One Clear Reader?

One Clear Reader's notes tell you when the AI has touched the text you flagged. When the AI saves the file, the page refreshes by itself. Any note whose quoted text is no longer on the page shows This text has changed with a green tick.

That tells you the AI touched that spot. Read the new version to check it did what you asked, then Remove the note.

How do I see what my AI changed in One Clear Reader?

One Clear Reader marks what changed in the file for you, in two ways.

Changed since the last refresh works while the file is open. When your AI saves the file, a bar appears above the page: "3 sections new or changed since the last refresh". Changed blocks are marked on the page.

• Next change jumps to each changed block in turn.
• Show only changes hides everything else. Click Show full document to go back.
• Dismiss closes the bar.

Changed since your last visit (Pro) works when you come back to a file later. The bar says something like "2 sections new or changed since you last read it yesterday", and the changed blocks are marked. One Clear Reader remembers this for your last 80 files. On Free you see the count and a See what changed button, without the marks.

How do I send feedback on one passage from One Clear Reader?

To tell your AI about one passage, use Copy feedback in One Clear Reader. It's quicker than a note when you only have one thing to say.

1. Select the passage.
2. Press ⇧⌘C, or choose Copy feedback in the bubble, or Edit › Copy Feedback Context.
3. Paste into your AI chat and type your comment after "My feedback:".

The clipboard gets the file path, the section heading, the selected text and a "My feedback:" line ready for you:

To point at a whole section instead, hover its heading and click #. That copies a link to the section (the file path plus the heading) that you can paste into a chat.

How do I share my One Clear Reader notes with a colleague?

To share your notes with a colleague, save them as a .notes.md file next to the document.

1. Click Review, then Save as file. Or press ⌘K and choose Save notes as a file to share.
2. A save window opens in the document's folder, with a name like plan.notes.md already filled in. Click Save.
3. Send both files, or keep them together in a shared folder.

The notes file is readable Markdown: a heading for each note, the quote and the comment. Anyone can read it in any app. It also carries hidden data so One Clear Reader can put the notes back on the page.

When someone opens the document in One Clear Reader with the notes file beside it, a message appears: "plan.notes.md has 2 notes on this document." They click Show them here to add the notes to their page, or Not now.

Can Claude Code ask me for a review in One Clear Reader?

Not yet. The One Clear Reader app download doesn't let Claude Code request a review or collect your notes by itself. For now, Copy as prompt does the same job with one paste.
